The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) was one of the most important organizations of the civil rights movement, founded in 1960. Its young organizers led sit-ins, Freedom Rides, and voter-registration drives across the South. Today the SNCC Legacy Project preserves that history and carries its organizing tradition forward for new generations.
