Located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) is the only national museum devoted exclusively to documenting African American life, history, and culture. Opened in 2016, it houses a vast collection and exhibitions that explore the Black experience and its central role in the American story.
