The Amistad Research Center is one of the nation’s oldest and largest independent archives dedicated to the history of African Americans and other ethnic communities. Housed at Tulane University in New Orleans, it preserves manuscripts, records, art, and artifacts documenting the African American experience, the civil rights movement, and race relations, and makes them available for research and education.
