Founded in 1908 at Howard University, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is the first Greek-letter sorority established by Black college women. A member of the Divine Nine (NPHC) headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, it unites women in sisterhood and service — promoting scholarship, cultural enrichment, and programs that improve the social and economic conditions of communities worldwide.
