The African People’s Socialist Party (APSP), which leads the Uhuru Movement, is a Pan-African socialist organization founded in 1972 by Omali Yeshitela. It advocates for the liberation and unification of African people worldwide, reparations, and community-controlled institutions, and runs economic-development programs under the banner “Uhuru” (freedom).
